My father listened to Ry Cooder when I was a child in the 1970s and I definitely took the magic of the music for granted (although it did leave me with a lifelong love for the sound of slide guitar). The podcast is a joy in itself, allowing me to learn more about the nuances and background of the music — but it also feels like spending time with my father, who passed a few years ago. I am so deeply grateful to have found this podcast! As a GenXer, I don’t binge media very much — but I’ve been listening to these episodes one after another like eating potato chips.
