Alana brings a reporter’s ear and a comedian’s timing. She keeps the narrative honest, fleshs out characters, and knows when to press the story forward. I finish episodes feeling informed and entertained.

I found The Outfit on a friend’s rec and now it’s the first thing I play on walks. Smart without being stuffy, actually funny, and no filler. Huge fan of Alana… she asks what I’m thinking, keeps it honest, and drops little lines that stick with me after. Feels like a friend… that kind of parasocial relationship you get when you hear someone talking enough hours

Dan and Alana are great - always learn about 5x more than I expect to, and Dan weaves the stories in amusing and educational ways, while Alana serves as a good cohost and pokes in with the simple questions to make sure we Actually Understand the context and terminology. Can’t wait for more!

Overall a good podcast, hosts are very knowledgeable on history of The outfit. Unfortunately bring their political views into every topic. If they could stick to the history and stories of the Chicago outfit and leave their current political views out it would be one of the best mafia podcasts. If I wanted political junk I’d listen to a political podcast

This is a subject that really intrigued me and I was looking forward to the first episode. Content was solid but the delivery needs work. Perhaps I have been spoiled by the dulcet and smoothly delivered tones of other podcasters, but the hosts use “like” and “you know” so continuously that it affected my ability to enjoy the show. It is so distracting that I almost gave up half way through. I am hoping that the hosts being new to the format just need some time to smooth out the rough edges.
