The Nightingale of Iran - Podcast Rankings and reviews

This story was incredibly absorbing on so many levels. I loved learning about what life was like for Jewish people in Iran during the “Golden Age.” I especially loved listening to the voices of family members and hearing the interviews. I also loved listening to the singing. I downloaded Galeet’s album. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful story. Will there be a Season 2?

جذابیت داستان به واقعی بودنشه و اینکه واقعا بعد از شنیدن این داستان نظرم راجب یهودیان کاملا تغیر کرد و متوجه شدم چقدر یهودیان تو گذشته اذیت میشدند ؛ به نظرم ارزش گوش دادن رو داره قشنگه.

I haven’t been this taken by a podcast since Serial back in 2013-ish. The story is so absorbing and the characters are incredibly lovable. Thank you to Danielle and Galeet for sharing their specific yet relatable family story.

My husband was a Baha’i from Shiraz, Iran, where he sang and had a little band in which he played violin and his youngest sister also sang until they came to the United States to pursue a higher education. They were quite well regarded and well-known in their community. As a fifth generation Californian of European descent, Persian singing was strange at first, but it grew on me and I found this podcast to be poignantly reminiscent of the times I spent with my Persian family. What a loving, hospitable, warm, welcoming culture!
