I do not have 8 kids and I am not a single mother. I have no propensity for music, dance and performance. I also haven’t been to a gym in years. YET, I relate immensely to Julie, seeing so much of my life in hers. Her struggles are so personal and profound, yet extremely relatable. I marvel at her strength and the power she channels to accomplish what seems like the impossible. Although she is merely mortal, she seems to draw on heavenly strength to do what must be done—and she’s teaching us how to do the same. With her openness and vulnerability, she is offering us a gift. Hers is a gift to never feel alone or forgotten; to be understood by a fellow woman in Christ. Most of all, she os offering us the gift of hope. If Julie can survive so many life changing, catastrophic events and come out stronger, so can we. What a privilege it is to get a glimpse into the power of being true to covenants, drawing on on the power of God, and responding with true grit.

But since I can’t be her friend irl, listening to her podcast is next best thing. She doesn’t put herself above anyone or put on a facade of knowing it all. Instead, she shows us what it looks like to take initiative and action with all the mishaps thrown in with the successes. She is a good conversationalist and I look forward to many more podcast episodes!
