Mike is a sublime host and always has intelligent and entertaining guests on the show. You can count on engaging and fun discussions of the horror films and his thematic focus has been a great way to analyze and appreciate horror films through the decades. This is a top-tier show!

Mike presents such a rich, thorough discussion of both mainstream and lesser known horror movies. His respect for and knowledge of the genre makes me forget he’s probably a couple of decades younger than me. He shows his guests absolute respect and makes the discussions that much richer with his kindness and sense of humor. Touching on the fact that many of us horror addicts are truly the gentlest people but we love to safely visit the brain twists well crafted horror brings. Bravo!

Mike always has insightful things to say about horror, complemented by a great roster of guests. Apparently some listeners take issue with certain titles he covers (like Home Alone as a home invasion movie), but I love hearing his perspective on off-the-wall choices as well as the more standard horror fare. Really enjoyable and you will probably learn something, even when it is a film you know really well. The host sounds like he is having a good time and there is a total lack of pretension in the way he talks about films and interacts with guests. There are way too many horror movie podcasts at this point and this is one of the best. - personally I’m finding the current season a letdown - angry nature is one of my fav themes in horror and I’m finding the choice of films strange and some of the guests haven’t much to contribute but one off season doesn’t spoil the whole show.
