i’m a long time listener of Second Thought and i love this podcast as well. the only thing i’d criticize is the subtle sexism that comes through. I notice a lot of careful consideration of the way things are phrased sometimes, but then other times when it comes to something like the Hilary ep or criticism of neo-liberal or conservative women in politics (which is completely valid obviously) the jokes and general sentiment are enough to make me uncomfortable as a woman. i know these biases are implicit, and these people are likely awesome, just something to consider when practicing.. yk.. deprogramming lol

This is a great podcast full of important info and valuable insight. But it can get incredibly “bro”-y at points. I’d love to see the boys work on deprogramming their own social misogyny so that the pod is more inclusive and enjoyable for comrades of all genders and identities. As leftists we must always actively work to unlearn the biases engrained in us by our society.

Without reading further than the “What do you get” on their introduction, It could be best described that what you get is top notch information and quality from both the main three hosts and the countless guests, as well as belly laughs and good humor. This podcast has made me break out with joviality on multiple occasions! However there is some problems, best summed up by I believe another reviewer, AnarchistPotato. Other than that, this is an amazing podcast and we all look forward to more.

Been listening since the start and episode 62 was so good that I finally had to leave a review. In passing y’all touched on the threat of balkenization and the popularity of libertarianism in that episode. It was extremely interesting to hear your guest say that was an issue in Latin America because I always thought of it as an American issue. I see libertarian ideals deeply ingrained into the western left and I would love an episode where you all dissect these libertarian ideals, why they are bad and how they should be challenged (like maos “combat liberalism” but for libertarianism). A kind of vent diagram comparing liberalism to libertarianism would be very interesting also. Thank y’all for all you do, someday I will kick you all some of the money I have made while listening to your podcast on the clock!
