Whether I’m watching every game across the top leagues that weekend or missing them all, this show is great for catching up or expanding on what’s happening on and off the pitch with Iain’s insightful and often humorous views.

The re-launch this summer has resulted in what is no doubt the best daily soccer podcast (sorry, I’m American - though I’d be dual eligible through my Gran for England if I were any good at, ahem, football). It’s informative, insightful, and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a lovely part of my daily routine and I’ve waited far too long to share my enthusiasm. Keep up the good work!

It’s easy to find a quick hitting podcast with info about the Premier League results- much harder is finding a podcast that covers the other tiers of English football and the rest of Europe. This podcast does it all. We need more updates on Iain’s Civilization VI play though!

Recently found this show. It is terrific, driven by the top shelf personality i have enjoyed over the years.
Ian accents the reporting of the day’s football doings with his own brand of humor and comment. Perfect mix.
I fondly recall, years ago, Ian’s seminal work reviewing all the EFL grounds from his personal visits. Quite the undertaking and that knowledge shared fueled my ‘soccer’ trips to england for years thereafter.
A top talent.

Iain,
New Englander checking in here,
Loving the podcast, and feeling strongly enough to comment on your recent poor, poor, poor (underlined), take on Jose Mourinho’s recent antics/comments in the media - I suggest you give Tifo Football’s ‘Mourinho, Fenerbache & Conspiracy Theories’ a watch - Mou wasn’t commenting on the ‘football system’ against him personally, but the Turkish Football ‘system’ against Fenerbache, as there’s a surprising history regarding this idea, belief, or truth, depending on who you ask.
Mourinho’s comment of stench was referring to the "smell of corruption". "Isto está-me a cheirar mal" or "cheira-me a esturro" are very common expressions that don't translate well to English (I just learned minutes ago via r/soccer).
I, for one, am as shocked as anybody that I feel this strongly about Turkish football at the moment.
Sincerely, an enjoyer of Mourinho greatness (us vs. the world baby!)
Tyson
P.S. highly recommend finding Mourinho celebrating a last-minute winner with a failed knee-slide, currently on the top of the week at r/soccer. Keep up the great work, and watch how you speak about The Special One ;)
