This is my favorite podcast. It’s really well balanced, in that the discussions are substantive but the attitude is fun and light. Love it that there is a different guest each time, and the guests choose the book to be discussed, so there is a sympathy and enthusiasm that makes it a pleasure to listen.

I just discovered this podcast after reading The Scarlet Letter alongside my teens who are reading it at school (so I could converse with them about it). That episode was SO helpful in helping me process my thoughts on the books as well as the big themes. I plan to make my boys listen to it also & am curious to see if they talk about those ideas during seminar discussion at school 😉 I love that it’s from a conservative, biblical worldview. Thank you for this bookclub!

As though the idea that “a father leaving his family is bad enough” but a mother leaving is completely inexcusable… is not a political stance. Of course it is. Interpret and argue over the literature as you wish, but at least do it with intellectual integrity.
