Stories for Robots

by Griffin Schwed

Stories for Robots is a funny storytelling podcast for kids 5 to 11 and the grown-ups listening with them. Join Griffin as he tells classic stories to Spark and Vector, two silly robots who have read the entire internet but still don’t understand humans. Like, what are hot dogs and… why? And what’s up with wearing pants? Season one tells the original fairy tales behind the famous animated films: the real Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Aladdin, Rapunzel, Beauty and the Beast and The Snow Queen, the way Hans Christian Andersen, the Brothers Grimm and others first told them. About 20 minutes an episode: perfect for car rides, road trips or a story before bed. A funny podcast for kids and adults alike, great for kids listening on their own and even better together. New episodes every Thursday. Free and ad-free. Spark and Vector are performed by Griffin, and their voices are transformed with AI voice technology. The show’s music is made with AI tools.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Griffin Schwed has blown the Disney dust off these vulnerable fairytales, so you can get what Hans Christian Anderson and other storytellers of the past were really saying. And what they were saying is sometimes weird, sometimes disturbing, but always fascinating. You see why these tales have continued to captivate audiences for centuries. His interpolated robot voices (“Vector” and “Spark”) are a delightful innovation, and act as kind of a comic chorus that helps listeners stay on track by asking some of the questions that the modern audience would naturally ask. They are also very funny. These productions managed to accomplish that rare feat: enchanting children, while also keeping the grown-ups entertained. Highly recommended!

Listened to my first episode with my 7 year old. She was entranced! After she asked for more episodes and was filled with thought provoking questions. Tv/youtube/movies never do this! Thank you.

Such a creative take on storytelling. My 3 boys were giggling and totally engaged during each episode. We’re 2 episodes in and they are already asking for more. Vector and Spark are the best.

This show is really engaging and so funny. We were all laughing out loud! I find a lot of kid programming to be hard to listen to as an adult, but our whole family loved this.
