Never expected to so enjoy 3 hours on coal, but wow! This rich conversation will make you look differently at the world. A nerdy and informative romp through the history and impact of a transformative time. Can’t wait for part 2!

Loved the maiden episode and am really excited for what Ben and Anay are doing. My critical feedback:

1) Don’t try to be ‘Acquired’, try to be Stepchange. Acquired is awesome but I feel like you both are trying to reuse/repurpose some of their strategies and it feels out of place and jarring at times.

2) I’d go much deeper into the science/chemistry. You did great on the economics, history, and politics but wish there was a deeper dive on coal’s thermodynamic and chemical properties and how unique it is, plus a deep dive comparison to other fuels.

3) Invest in better mics and audio post-processing. This isn’t that expensive and it’s a huge quality change for a small price.

4) Realizing I’m violating recommendation #1, but would have some banter/carve-outs at the end to get to know both of you better. Or something where we can see more flickers of personality.
