Somebody Knows Something - Podcast Rankings and reviews

More than any other true crime podcast or show I listen to, this one actually does feel like a personal appeal for help. These are Detectives, not entertainers looking to sensationalize. They offer theories, do the research, and responsibly share what they find. Episodes 1-3 are a bit more background. But starting with episode 4, I felt my mind trying to work through the possibilities. Each episode after that gets better and better.

If you are from Elgin, Dundee, or Carpentersville, it will feel like walking in a memory of 1983. I highly recommend.

I don’t do reviews ever but this was a very well done podcast. I applaud the city of Elgin, IL for taking on this project and shedding light on a cold case file from the Elgin Police Department’s perspective. I’ve lived in the surrounding area before and am local to Chicago now so this was great to hear, hitting so close to home. They did an awesome job walking through all of the scenarios and ultimately coming to a conclusion on what happened. Keep up the great work and looking forward to hearing the next one.

I’m so glad my town is doing this podcast! Anything you can do to bring closure to the families, the victims and the cases is great! EPD is a top notch department and with the times! I can’t wait to hear the crimes solved through help of the podcast. Also, never knew there were so many cold cases in Elgin! Keep up the excellent work!

I am glad that they are doing this! It is informative and bringing awareness to cold cases which otherwise would not be getting outside attention. While some people may not like that it’s the police doing it, I find it better than two random hosts attempting to put together information from the internet or archives to bring awareness to cold cases. I hope they cover more cases in the future
