Shannon's Lumber Industry Update - Podcast Rankings and reviews

The title of the podcast buries the lead..this might be the best woodworking podcast out there. There are other woodworking podcasts I enjoy, but none that I routinely learn from as much as this one. The host explained wood movement in laymen’s terms better than anyone I’ve ever come across.

It does, of course, cover the lumber industry extensively, and does so with a ‘freakinomics’ flair that even my non-woodworking wife admits she finds interesting.

I’ve listened to the “other” podcast and this is so much better! Shannon is so good at explaining things in layman’s terms and I’ve learned a lot in just a short time listening. None of the corny jokes, just real useful information.

This is a great resource for learning how to source lumber as well as having an understanding of good use cases for particular species of lumber. Information from this podcast helped me find and go to a sawmill for the first time and feel good about the price of my purchase.
