Love this pod- one of my favorites! Your episode on lamb cakes brought back such wonderful memories for me. Growing up in the late 50’s & early 60’s in southern NJ, I used to go up to “The Cottage” every summer near Watertown NY. My beloved Aunt Agnes (Aunt Ag) owned this magical place on the shores of Lake Ontario where our extended family would gather every year.
My sainted aunt put up with weirdo bookworm me & encouraged me to help in the kitchen if I liked. I did like. And once I expressed my love of her molded lamb cake she always made it for me when I visited. I’m a coconut freak so of course the ‘lamb’s wool’ & the surrounding ‘grass’ dyed green totally enthralled me. Thanks for the memories! 💕

I’ve been listening for years and always look forward to hearing anney and Lauren conversing about food-related topics. I like that they’re real people, non-partisan, and always talking about fun and interesting topics. I almost feel like they’re friends and enjoy being able to listen to their shows every week

I used to love listening to this podcast. The chemistry between Lauren and Annie is fantastic and it was like hanging out with friends while learning so much about the science and history of food.
However, they’ve started editorializing so much on controversial issues that one can hardly get through an episode without some self-righteous diatribe. Sure, if the history of a certain food comes with baggage, I have no issues with that. But the majority of the comments they make regarding those issues come out of left field.
It’s a podcast about food, something all of humanity have in common. Why stir the pot?

If you've ever listened to How Stuff Works podcasts, you’ll be familiar with the pace a patter of Savor. It’s not just about the topic, it’s also about the Southern speed of the dialogue (i.e. slowwww) and the complete absence of stress, politics, or anything else that might keep you awake at night.

It’s perfect for falling to sleep, cleaning, cooking—any simple task that might be more pleasant with a bit of light distraction going on in the background.

As a foodways historian, I love listening to anything related to the topic. This would be one of my more favorite podcasts but I just cannot stomach listening to the hosts. The over-the-top vocal “flourish” that they add to just about everything is incredibly annoying. Can you please just use a normal speaking voice? It constantly feels like I’m watching the SNL skit, Master Thespian.

I’ve been listening to this podcast since it’s beginning & I loved it. I never enjoyed they’re interview style but I just skipped those episodes. But it has become less of a food show & more about their personal likes, experiences & personal chit chat that has little to nothing to do with the topic. I came to the end of my patience on a recent episode when they didn’t get to the actual topic until 15 minutes into the episode. Enough. If there’s people that enjoy that sort of thing put it in a special behind it he scenes episode. I’m just here for the food & that doesn’t seem to be their focus anymore.
