I first heard professor Frey on Matt Fradd show. At the time I had just finished reading Flaubert’s Madame Bovary, which she mentioned in the course of her conversation with Matt. When I found out that she has her own podcast I made a beeline to it, and the rest is history. It’s become one of my favorite shows. Prof Frey is a great conversationalist who neither condescends nor panders. This work of hers is a gift to those of us who enjoy long form discussions about first rate art from the perspective of reason, Faith and love. I cannot be happier for having discovered it.

I’m addicted to this podcast. Such a unique gem. I first heard Jennifer Frey in a Word on Fire interview and was so excited when I discovered she had her own podcast. If you love literature and philosophy or just want to become more acquainted with some great works, this is for you!

This is the perfect podcast (for me).
Jennifer beautifully blends my two favorite interests and pastimes, literature and philosophy, with my new and life changing love of Catholicism. Sometimes there is even some french and music thrown in. Her guests are lovely and the subject matter is what I want all of my friends to WANT to talk about. I hope to someday be as wise and well read as Frey and her guests.

Not sure how I haven’t already reviewed this podcast, but I’m obsessed. I love these serious and yet highly enjoyable conversations about great books. My go-to for getting a scholarly fix during dishwashing and/or commuting. Jenn Frey is my hero.
