The title is a bit of a joke, but this show really does have an effervescent effect. I listen to A LOT of spiritual podcasts—both from those of my own faith tradition and those from others. I have never written a review, but I just feel like I am not properly showing my gratitude to Stephen and David if I don’t here. So here goes. I find this podcast to be the least annoying the least amount of the time compared with other podcast’s by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (my own faith tradition). Although I started with that, that is just a bonus for me, because I don’t let those LDS oddities keep me from listening to podcasts that do annoy me anyhow. I just kind of accept it as par for the course. The meat of what is so lovely about this podcast is that it is sincere; it focuses on the very heart of the gospel; it genuinely increases my experience of divinity; it’s very real; it’s fun; and it doesn’t fall into any of the common blunders (oddities? Peculiarities?) of other LDS podcasts. Stephen and David address the shadow side of what can be taken from the truths they address lending to a nuance that can be missing in some podcasts. They tend not to fall into Utah cultural tropes that often end up inadvertently being set forth in religious podcasts; they are so honoring of people of all faiths and don’t straw man different views; and they don’t put truth statements ahead of Jesus Christ. It’s really very lovely. I recommend it to everyone.

I love this podcast! I’ve always loved David and have been in classes with Stephen. Stephen has an amazing way of teaching profound truths and really makes you think. Great podcast, but David is the Jimmy Kimmel of podcasts. Dave is funny and I have so much love for him, but LET STEPHEN TALK! Too much interrupting to crack a joke or insert his opinion.

As a sincere and huge fan of both of you and how you teach the gospel, THANK YOU. My spiritual mind is blown each and every time, without a fail, as I listen to your commentary on these conference talks. However, this podcast has fallen into the category of “listening every once and a while” only because to get to the mind blowing commentary, one has to endure many a jokes and chatter 😄 I feel like I am listening to the “raw” version of the episode, before it has been edited. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind the “this episode is sponsored by” thing (or similar), but it goes on for too long, wasting precious time on the gift that is these talks and the gift that is your guys’ commentary! I want to hear that! That blesses our lives SO much. P.S. would also like to hear Stephen more, let the man talk! 😆

I love the approach of this podcast. Powerful truths, humor, and a view of God and the gospel that presupposes goodness, mercy, and love. Having Stephan and David on the podcast makes a great combination!
