Rosebud is an absolute gem. I am American, and even from across the Atlantic, the stories and voices in this podcast resonate deeply. The diary episodes with Gyles and Harriet are a genuine pleasure to listen to. Their storytelling feels so natural and intimate that it is like being invited into their world. The celebrity interviews are just as compelling and feel like you are listening in on a private conversation between close friends. There is a real honesty and warmth in every episode that makes it easy to connect with. I especially loved the glimpse into Harriet’s time in India and cannot wait to hear more. We only got a taste and I am so excited to see where that story goes. The music adds an extra layer of emotion and atmosphere without ever taking away from the stories. This podcast is a rare and rewarding listen and I always look forward to the next episode.

Gyles Brandreth and Harriet Jaine do an outstanding job presenting my favorite podcast, Rosebud, which is a happy, calming, and entertaining hour that delves into guests’ first memories and life’s lessons learned. I especially like “More Rosebud”, which features Gyles’ diaries. The storytelling is engaging and very interesting from a historical perspective as it is sourced from the viewpoint of a teenage Gyles! I always look forward to the next episode.

I have been binge listening nonstop to your entire catalogue, and I must say it is the most enjoyable, interesting, and intellectually stimulating podcast that I have listened to this far, and I listen to a lot of podcasts. I particularly love the contrast between your interviews of well known and eminent guests and your readings from your diaries Gyles. I love your diaries, please do not listen to the naysayers. The diaries are a brilliant social and historical commentary on the 60s and I imagine as they go on the 70s, the 80s, the 90s etc. They are no less interesting than the diaries of Samuel Pepys in my humble opinion. Well done for being the best at what you do!

Just a bit— I’m an American working as a psychologist in Japan with military families. It’s been dreadful following the machinations of the current US government. Your podcast takes me away from the worry and fear. I turned both my 30 year old sons onto the podcast and it is helpful for them too in this difficult time. This podcast could be so much better if the host spoke less and let the guest speak more —-the host interjects his own life in too often . Why have the guest ??
