I’ve been a fan of Chris’s for a while but even more so after listening to this podcast. I’ve enjoyed the first couple of episodes but my music-nerd cup overfloweth with the 3rd installment with Eva Walker (another musician/DJ/Force of Nature I’m a HUGE fan of) talking about one of my favorite all-time movies and easily my favorite concert film, Stop Making Sense. Every bit of that 3rd episode just hit me so directly I was constantly shouting “ME TOO” in my head as I listened. Yeah, that little tongue-stick out? I always loved that! Bits of trivia I didn’t know after all of these years (What was the deal with Christ Frantz polo shirt not matching the muted tones of the rest of the band?) If you like music and movies, this pod is a must try.

RPM has highlighted some great music documentaries, many of which were new to me.
Chris Slusarenko is the ideal host for a podcast: knowledgeable with insightful questions. Plus he invites great guests and never interrupts them.

In addition to covering a specific and fruitful pop-culture subgenre (music films and documentaries), it’s hosted by someone who ran a video store for twenty-plus years and is an integral part of Portland’s music scene. All these factors, plus a guest roster of people who have worked in all levels of the film and music industry, results in an informative and fun podcast filled with great anecdotes, insights, and recommendations to check out various bands and movies.

Great show for music fans of all types! Chris packs in a lot of fun history and information between his own experiences and that of his varied and knowledgable guests. Even episodes about artists you don’t think you like are interesting with all of the woven stories that are discussed. Thank you!

Just discovered this recently (to my own embarrassment) and have been working through from current to past episodes. Was especially touched with the part one part two Devo episodes and the mention of Satisfaction, as I too heard the Devo version first before the Rolling Stones’. Strongly agree that for so many of us there was a before Devo, and after Devo formative reality. Really sweet and fact-packed conversations, not just with these two episodes, but again and again throughout the whole series.
