I am a new grad ER nurse and I have been searching for nine months for a podcast that contains pertinent information to my field with the education provided on a level where I can understand it. I have found a many critical care podcast however, the content is so far advanced that it goes above and beyond my comprehension level. Sarah educates her listeners in a manner that is easily digestible and understandable. I am so incredibly grateful to have found this podcast and I can already tell that after just a few episodes my train of thought when I walk into a patient’s room, as well as the knowledge I have gained by listening to her podcast has changed my nursing practice.

To my fellow new RNs - this is the podcast you’re looking for. Need to shift your clinical reason from textbooks to living people? Sarah’s storytelling format is great for that. Need a straightforward explainer on a particular topic? Sarah’s patho is clear and easy to absorb. Sarah’s passion for nursing and kind approach shines through. I feel better after having listened to an episode.

I’m listening to this as a lab person in the field for 20 years. I have an interest in all things medical and have a lot of great nurse colleagues. I did just listen to the transfusion reaction one and can confirm that the blood bank hates transfusion reactions just as much! One comment on the cause though—while it can be a blood draw or type & cross issue for a hemolytic reaction, I have unfortunately had several cases over my career where the nurse also gave the unit to the wrong patient. I am thinking that better technology and improved processes limit that cause more now than when I worked in the blood bank. Looking forward to your other episodes!
