I really think yall have something special with this show. But I think the episodes where the proxy has gone through a similar experience are way more impactful than the ones with researchers. The episode about the guy who was broken up after his partner decided to date women was actually breathtaking. I realize it’s harder to find those types of proxies, but I do think that’s what makes the show stand out. Any podcast can find a researcher, the stakes just hit different when it’s about how someone felt going through something instead. Again, I love the pod and hope you keep making it!

This podcast reminds me of the “golden age” of podcasts of Gimlet and narrative storytelling—when I first fell in love with podcasts. It’s informative, relatable, stays on topic, but also entertaining!
The host is incredible and I really love the sound engineering and music. I just listed to “Zakiya Used to be Fun” and kept finding myself relating so deeply.
Thank you for the wonderful work you are doing!

I love Proxy. While many of these stories are about “niche” emotional conundrums, they tap into feelings/human conditions that are so universal. Yowei is a compassionate and fun host, and I love the show’s creativity of the proxy choices.
