Chris is insightful, funny, and focused as he parts the curtain on games industry (and games journalism) history while giving context on great games for a generation that still loves the hobby but doesn’t have the time we used to. This show hit me at the perfect point in my life as a new dad looking for how and why I should continue to make space for interactive entertainment. As a fan of Chris’ on The Besties and The Resties for years, this was a day one subscription and easy back on Patreon!

This is a thoughtful approach to a video games podcast, from someone who clearly knows the industry, where to look, and what questions to be asking. Only a couple of episodes in, and I’ve learned a ton about the history of games and where the industry is headed.

I caught this guy on another podcast (I listen to so many gaming ones I forget which one) and he mentioned his show - thought I’d check it out. Turns out his format is something I’ve been looking for for a while now. While a lot of podcasts feel very podcast-y [nothing wrong with that] this one feels like an hour+ YouTube video I’m just listening to. As a huge YouTube guy who uses it as background noise, I love this. Keep it up bud.

So far, both episodes have been excellent. Entertaining and informative about aspects of the gaming industry I had not considered.
