Love the pod, it breaks down some really complex topics into terms that non economists can understand. I love Kathryn’s passion and depth of knowledge for the topic, it really shines through. The humor and catchy segment titles keep it light, I look forward to the podcast ‘drop’ every week.

It’s great to hear an optimistic view for solving issues in our economy. Although they feel impossible in our current environment, I enjoy the ideas and appreciate the historical perspective. Most surprising and an eye-opener for me was the data around why Social Security is in the spot is now. The message I’ve heard forever is that there are too few people contributing for the number of people claiming - glad to be properly schooled. I look forward to each week’s podcast - thank you!

I always push this to the top of my listening stack because it’s fun, it’s timely, and it clarifies and condenses so much information about US economics. Which happens to hit everything of value to me, my children, my friends, and family. Plus, I have much better ammunition for my arguments with my drunk uncles.

In seriousness, KEDs is a personal hero and a standout public intellectual who, together with her cohost Robin, a veteran journalist, is providing a necessary tonic for today’s media environment, which is consumed by the twinned evils of hopelessness and disinformation. What if we talked about our real economic problems, but in the context of solutions that are already available? Tremendous. Superb.
But also, come for the tire fire that is these two brilliant ladies, backstopped by a producer we can infer is both talented and sleepless, doing every single thing wrong as they launch their first (wonderful!!) podcast. It is truly charming to hear them giggling over each other as they remind themselves they have to ask for money to keep the lights on. KEDs, you guys use an outline, right? You seem to keep surprising Robin with the topic of the day.
To be clear, I love both the podcast and the opportunity to join the ride as KEDs and Robin build the plane while flying it.
