I have been writing fiction (mostly sci-fi and fantasy) since I started writing, and since then have read thousands of books, as well as thousand of pages (and at least fifty millions words) on writing advice from authors including Stephen King, Christopher Pasolini, and Orson Scott Card. I have also listened to many different podcasts—including recordings by Robin Sloan, Brandon Mull, and Dana Goia. With all of this input and all of this practice, I have developed rules and opinions, and so far, I have disagreed with everyone I have read or listened to about at least one thing.
However, despite having listened to the entirety of this podcast so far (8 episodes, not counting the 0.5’s) I have not disagreed with Mr. Sanderson on a single thing, which I find truly impressive.
I highly recommend this, and would say that this podcast might even be essential to becoming a successful author.
