If you love movies but more importantly love it when the interviewer genuinely loves the job, the industry, and can actively listen and ask just outstanding questions. This is the podcast. Seriously Kevin’s interview skills are masterful bc he listens and yet gets the person to tell us engaging answers. It’s a wonderful thing when you get this dynamic of active listener and engaged conversation. If you don’t already know Kevin reviews movies which are also fantastic.

I’ve been following Kevin since the early days of ReelBlend, and he’s one of the most passionate, intelligent interviewers I’ve seen in any field. So excited for more of this show, because his passion created my own passion for film. Incredible first episode!

I have been following the career of Kevin McCarthy, since he was a teenage kid, riddled with acne, be set by halitosis, and awkward as any teenager would be.


Kevin has blossom into an excellent film journalist. His obvious and abundant love of film radiates from his interviews. As Josh Browen describes in the first episode, Kevin is not merely a fan but is also a student. His increasingly expert knowledge of the technical ins and outs of film will no doubt yield a grapefruit in the year ahead on this podcast and other ventures.

Kevin’s authenticity is also at the core of his perspective as a film journalist and as a podcast host. It is that undeniable honest love of film end of the process of filmmaking that has led to people like Josh Rowland to befriend him in a genuine way.
