Hello! I wanted to write in to tell you that you’re doing a great job with this podcast, and that I’m very excited for the release of Centipede: Recharged as well as any future installments of the Atari Recharged series.
To me, last week’s episode about designing the gameplay of Centipede Recharged has been the most entertaining episode yet! It sounds like the game is shaping up to be something quite addicting. I will admit that I personally didn’t find Missile Command Recharged to be completely satisfying; it seemed as though simply tapping my phone screen rapidly was effective enough to get a high score. What looks different about Centipede Recharged, from what I’ve heard, is the campaign of 30 challenges that are specifically designed to help you understand techniques and strategies that will make you a better player when you go over to arcade mode. This is a vast improvement over just unlocking upgrades as it was in Missile Command Recharged, because here there is a much greater sense of accomplishment in honing your skills.
I am a wannabe game designer myself, so it was great hearing tips from Vaidas. I’m totally gonna try his challenge of creating a two-player board game with only five cards and three dice - I’ll find you both on Twitter, in case you ever want to play it with me on Tabletop Simulator! :P
I can’t wait for the next episode!

As a Gen-Xer who spent many hours with my Atari 2600 and 1200XL, it is fantastic to see this company surging ahead again. I use my Atari VCS nearly every day and love most of the new games they are releasing.
This podcast is so great for us true fans. They are always interesting and go very deep with the topics and guests.
