I’m enjoying the story but the voice acting is so bad I’m struggling to keep listening. Like, it’s comically bad and VERY overdone. It’s a shame too, because I’m really enjoying the story and the nostalgic 90’s setting. If you can’t get past a couple cringe-inducing VA’s skip this one.

I found this very different from my usual true crime podcast, but the story lines ate similar. I love the old radio broadcast type of presentation with the various voices of the many characters. The sound effects too are absolutely perfect. I sincerely hope there are many more seasons to come. Thank you!

I'd like to say at least give it a go, but it's pretty obvious it needs some more work. Is way too much of a 'Stranger Things' clone wannabe, and the writing needs some help. Especially a lot of the dialogue - a lot of lines had me cringing.
If it's their first released work I'd say keep at it, cause it's a good start.

… but they make it kind of difficult. The premise/storyline is interesting enough but there is so much that takes you out of being able to be immersed in the story. Many of the characters are painted with so broad a brush that they either feel stereotypical or completely insubstantial. The acting is mediocre at best and overly hammy and schlocky at worst. I know recording dialogue on your own is tough but there are so many downright strange acting choices and bizarre line readings. The script is ok in places but is mostly not written in the way that actual human beings speak (just heard a teenage character say “I will share with you the photographs that I snap”- the dialogue is full of weirdly phrased lines like this). I listen to a LOT of independent, fictional podcasts and they have a soft spot in my heart. However, it will take a lot of learning and growth for this one to hold a candle to the many stellar indie fiction pods that are out there.

Another reviewer already mentioned this, but this is a rehash of stranger things. This really felt like they wholesale took the plot and characters and repurposed it. Most of the characters have 1 to 1 matches (Eleven = Evie, Hopper = Jack, etc) that have way too many similarities for coincidence. The plot is the same story. The music is going for the same 80s synth vibe. The setting is the same just moving from 80s to 90s. I’m fine with using other work for inspiration, but this felt like it went too far.
