If you are a perfectionist afraid of nothing so much as regret from the road not taken, and if you are one who is characteristically “all in” in every venture with little regard for comfort or rest or “life balance”, and can relate to, if suddenly learning your days are numbered in months not years, starting a new podcast because the business of dying is “boring” and makes the time that remains, by its scarcity, even more valuable, then you will recognize Ben Sasse as a kindred spirit . I do but I am guessing not everyone will. No matter.
Even if Ben Sasse seems to you just THAT weird, you can still learn in real time more about the geography of the valley of the shadow from Sasse and his Stairwell (close enough) his longtime friend.
Raw, real, deeply honest, and wise…I guess I could have expected that, following Senator Sasse’s career in the Senate. But the humor from these two is a surprise. They are funny. Really funny. And sweet and tender and self-deprecating while ever-ready to laugh at themselves and life.
My only criticism is that their podcast lasted less than 30 minutes. But then this podcast does have a ticking clock as soundtrack which only adds to its value.

I truly enjoyed the introductory episode, and I’m looking forward to hearing what Ben, Chris and their guests have to say about redeeming the time. As they said, we’re all going to die. The question is how do we use the resources God has given us for his glory.

Like so many important things in life, you don’t realize how much you needed it until it’s too late. Ben’s voice and life, all of which reflect his heart and soul, is needed. I’m grateful he isn’t dead yet and that death won’t have the final word. I hope as many people as possible will listen and reflect and change what needs changing.
