No One Saw It Coming - Podcast Rankings and reviews

I am not sure exactly *how* I found this show and oh my STARS I love it!! I have sent the treadmill episode to soooooo many people.


The show is not over-produced, the interviews are intelligent and precise, and the host is funny and pleasant to listen to. I binged the entire catalog in a few days. When I realized I was almost through all the episodes I slowed down. A little. On the last episode and am so excited for the next one!! Thanks ABC and Mr. Fennel for the listen.

I have yet to come across any of Marc’s work that has been less than superior. He is a brilliant, thoughtful host, who has the gift of bringing history back to life and making it accessible and exciting for all. I’m so happy that this pod is on regular streaming platforms and can’t wait for more!

This podcast is so fun and produced in a way that takes you into the story. I listen as soon as they’re published; I can’t get enough!

I love this show! Such a fun and informative take on lesser known people or alternative takes on famous events. I loved Stuff The British Stole too. Good stuff.

At first, I liked this podcast until…I began realizing most of his topics (in the current, 2025) season are practically identical to topics, from the (now-discontinued) Brittish podcast “PATENTED”.
This leads to me to wonder…
The podcast “Patented” lasted only a few years, (during the Pandemic), and is no longer in the air.
This (Aussie) podcast “No one saw it coming”, is brand new…
Not believing in coincidences, leads me to only a few conclusions…
The former podcast “PATENTED” was cute, intelligent, thought-provoking, and the host was quite well informed on his topics, and always had live guests, (experts in their field), as his guests.
I can’t really say the same about “No one saw it coming”, and have unsubscribed.
