I love the way you break down these crimes and explore every possible avenue! It really forces listeners to use critical thinking and look at behaviors from every point of view(even if we are people who ordinarily wouldn’t!) and you never forget to talk adopt the most important people, the victims and their families. Best true crime podcast out! I must have more!!!!

Dr. Phil has an amazing way of explaining complex theories and behaviors without condescension. We all know what happened in these crimes but we never know why. He has a talent and making things be understandable in complex situations and teaches how to be aware of behaviors that could be precursors to bigger trauma or tragedy.

Update added- Dr. Phil what are you working on next? Haven’t heard anything here for a while. Anxiously awaiting your next case. - end update.
I’m not sure what some of the negative reviewers are looking for. I have listened to and very much enjoyed many, many other true crime podcasts out there and while those are good in their own way, Dr. Phil’s analysis on a psychological level is fascinating and I imagine starting to build. This is not another me-too investigative podcast. I think this podcast is more for those who want to look deeper into the minds of criminals and victims alike and actually learn something. And what better case to start with than the Gypsy Rose case. If this podcast is too slow for you, then you’re probably not someone who likes to think and analyze and learn. I appreciate that Dr. Phil is using his expertise and training and sharing his incredible mind with us in looking at criminal behavior in a different way. For those that just want cheap entertainment move along. This isn’t the podcast for you. Dr. Phil, keep being excellent.

As a true crime lover and huge Dr Phil fan, I really enjoyed this podcast. Not only did he tell the story, but he broke down the psychological thinking and characteristics of the murderers. I hope he continues this podcast.. I’ll be waiting!

I had to stop listening to leave this review. This murder case is striking enough without the overly dramatic narrating by Dr Phil. It isn’t necessary and it makes it difficult to listen to. I like podcasts that go around all the tiny details that aren’t important and go straight to the facts. The over explanation of the scene of the crime about how the cops felt and how horrific it was and how the murderer stared at all the homes in the neighborhood as we walked through it…It’s painful to listen to.
