I’m gonna push through because the story is fascinating but the daughter speaking from a script when she’s not an actress is painful to listen to. She’s trying, without acting experience, to sound thoughtful and off the cuff but these lines are clearly rehearsed so it really takes away from the authentic vibe of podcasting and why people listen. Another medium is best for her, and the host (who I LOVE), should have recognized the mismatch and spent more time making her comfortable enough to speak candidly. It’s normal to be nervous but “perfection” is not why people listen to true crime podcasts, raw real life is. And a novice’s need to control shouldn’t come at the expense of the whole production.
