This podcast program is everything to me!❤️
A wonderful collection of American Jazz & Ragtime from a century ago that is not simply “old music” but the anthem of an entire generation of Americans (our ancestors) who, like us today, danced, shouted, laughed, cried, flirted and partied to the sounds, beats, rhythms, and entertainers that encapsulated what life was all about in the early 20th century.
The hot jazz, blues, flappers, rags, and all I truly love. But my favorite episodes by far are the annual Halloween tunes. Incredible spooky popular music our country sorely needs to be reacquainted with - there is more to the holiday than “Thriller” and “The Monster Mash”! Haha.
Thank you, Mr. Fuqua.

Listening to each episode I learn about a new song, artist, group and influence on today's music. I've found many songs I like from present day artists originated from decades earlier. I've liked these songs from the early days of animated entertained and now appreciate some of the humor from my grandparents era. I'm now halfway to my centennial and love the connection to music from my grandparents generations. I've always like the older musicians like Perry Cuomo and Duke Ellington. I'm loving the history lesson as well as the concert of older recordings. Listening one episode at a time, or a day full of episodes, it's always a bright day hearing the roots of modern music. 'Music From 100 Years Ago' goes on my shelf with all the well listened and loved artists that aren't with us anymore, but live on in memoriam with all the artists, well known, and almost forgotten. Thank you Brice Fuqua for keeping all the music living on in your podcast. So much music, so little time to enjoy it all!! Thank you for all the hard work.

I’ve been loyally listening at least 10 years and am still impressed by his passion and breadth of knowledge. All the music is before my time, but it has always somehow resonated with me. I like to imagine walking into a store or diner of the era and hearing it playing—I guess it IS timeless. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
Years since my last review and still the first podcast I listen to when it drops. I was raised with stacks of old popular sheet music and wonder if an episode incorporating sheet music (oh those covers!) would be interesting. May be a challenge without visuals… Thanks again for the many years of music🙂

This is history in sound, music. I started listening quite a few years ago and this is the only podcast that I am subscribed to, that I consistently listen to on a regular basis. Bryce, you have themes we can look forward to each year, such as musicians born in the year 100 years ago (1923) or summer love songs and all kinds of subjects such as veggies. THANKS! This is updated March 21, 2024. Please keep creating the podcasts! Could you do a show featuring tap dancing or shows featuring artists Pearl Bailey and Della Reese? I couldn’t find a place to comment or ask questions. Just know your listeners appreciate you!
