Morning in the Garden - Podcast Rankings and reviews

I just love this show. I enjoy listening at the end of a long day when I want something soothing and immersive but educational too. It’s also fun to listen while getting acupuncture or on a flight. It’s an interesting and enjoyable distraction but the voices and stories keep me calm. I visited Filoli last year so that helped me visualize some of the places where the interviews take place. But it’s just such a pleasant show with the nature sounds and useful commentary about cultivating plants. I’ve listened to most of the episodes more than once. Like visiting a real garden there is something new revealed each time.

I learned about this podcast and was excited to listen since I have visited Filoli several times in the past. This podcast is a winner starting with the great voice, manner and knowledge of Interpretation Manager Willa Brock. The sounds of the birds, the crunch of the pebbles and other nature sounds sets the mood. Willa has a delightful quality to her as do all the horticulturists and others at Filoli who obviously love their work. From learning about the history of FIloli, getting gardening tips and sensing the joy of being a part of this historic house and garden, it inspires me to spend more time at Filoli and with the podcast!!

This podcast is my secret weapon to start the day off right. It feels more like a trip to Filoli for my ears than a gardening podcast. The crunching of the gravel, Willa’s description of what she’s seeing, and the casual conversation style draw the listener in to feel apart of the experience. Mornings in Filoli is as informative as it is charming, and leaves me with a sense of inspiration to take on the day.
My only complaint is the frequency. I would love more!

I’ve enjoyed season one so much. Great topics and experts. The soothing tones and friendly voices guiding us through the grounds of Filoli… one can picture it even of they’ve never had the pleasure of visiting.
