This podcast has been so helpful for me as I deconstruct my evangelical faith. I am so grateful to John for his sincerity and the fact that he (and the team) work tirelessly to bring these stories into the open. I especially love the panels that elevate women and allow them to tell their stories. Thank you to Mormon stories podcast for being such a healing tool for all of us who have been burned by high demand religion.

Dr. John, I hope you see this and just know sir, you have the absolute patience of a Saint (pun maybe?) for the four part story culminating in episode 1331, the young man who spent time with Teal Swan… from a mind that wanted to say so much to you that he could barely form a full sentence at the beginning episode, to the way you guided him with targeted questions to an end that held some real healing significance… my applause to you! And while he may have been scattered, the emotion he showed at the end truly was beautiful and you used it to teach that vulnerability is strength- something so many of us need to learn. Kudos on that whole series and the way you handled it, forming a really touching narrative by helping your guest structure his feelings and thoughts. Those six years of psych training and education are precious especially during these intense and dualizing times.

Also I love the band and you guys were the only ones I knew I’d be able to hear the whole Ruby story from because of the gentle but effective way you covered it all. Dear sir I cannot think of another time I’ve listened to a single podcast for six full hours and not wanted to turn it off once.

I’m not Mormon but I have Mormon ancestry on both sides (my G G G father settled in Phoenix as a Mormon and left church) Your series helps me understand my upbringing and culture. Your series helps me to identify when I am being gaslit by people, politics and media. Trust but verify.

Very good explanations with documents to back up what is stated. I always learn something important about myself too.
