This is an intellectually honest set of podcasts that helps people recover from a very harmful religious world view. If you’re finally ready for the truth about Mormonism I highly recommend.

I appreciate at least the attempt to analyze the data objectively and I feel Bill and RFM honestly try to put their current biases aside in many of the episodes. They both have been so valuable in my deconstruction of Mormonism, giving voice and language to the dissonance I experience with so many Mormon apologetic narratives.

I love your calm voice. I often listen to podcasts to fall asleep. You will be getting that honor soon. I also enjoyed the thoughtful content.

I am really disappointed by your episode about trans folks. I get that there are opposing perspectives in this controversial topic but it is very unfair to discuss trans rights and trans healthcare without including a trans person in the conversation. This is like having an episode about women’s rights without including a woman. Or talking about black people and the priesthood without talking to any black people about the pain that causes. (Actually, now that I type this, I realize you have done both, so maybe it’s par for the course). The problem is that this is life or death for families with trans members. By “balanced” platforming such a painful and life ending topic like this and giving equal time to the side that is clearly linked to hatred, you do more harm by giving air to things like warped data about detransitioning, as it is a very low percentage. You are helping the people who are literally trying to kill my family with ammunition for those cruel people. You are spreading the lie that trans people are predators by discussing these lies about people being allowed to use bathrooms in such a “rational” and nonemotional way. If you spend the first part of the episode discussing how painful this will be and how many people will be so hurt by this, you might have stopped to consider if this was a good idea. Yes, it might be true things you are discussing, but is it kind? Especially when you literally are silencing trans people by keeping them out of the conversation and speaking for them. I have listened to every episode of every show you’ve produced and this made me so, so sad and question if you actually have your heart in the right place. This was a poor choose with potentially unaliving consequences for your LGBT listeners. How very Mormon of you.
