Mishary Rashid Alafasy also spelled Mishari Rashid Al-Afasy or Mishary bin Rashid bin Gharib bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Afasy is an internationally renowned Quran reciter imam preacher and nasheed artist from Kuwait. Born on September 5 1976 he is celebrated for his unique melodious voice and deep emotional delivery which has garnered him immense popularity worldwide. He primarily recites in the Hafs ‘an Asim narration and is also known for his beautiful vocalizations of Islamic nasheeds songs. Digital Quranic archives and various platforms feature an extensive collection of his recitations including complete recitations of the Holy Quran and numerous individual surahs. His recitations are often broadcast on television and radio stations across the Muslim world. Sheikh Mishary Alafasy studied the Holy Quran at the College of the Quran and Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Madinah specializing in the ten readings of the Quran. He was taught by prominent scholars and reciters. He currently serves as the Imam of the Grand Mosque of Kuwait City.
