This is my everyday go-to show for Atlanta Braves content. Start off my morning routine with this show. Even in a down season for the Braves, Jake keeps things fresh and interesting with the topics of the day. I’ve been listening to Jake for several years now, and he just keeps improving on delivery, topics, content, research, and with providing opinions. Tune in. And keep it up!

I’ve tried to give this podcast a real shot, but the nonstop overly positive spin on everything makes it hard to take seriously. There’s very little objectivity or critical analysis… just constant optimism regardless of what’s actually happening on the field. When the team is struggling, I want honest breakdowns, not cheerleading. At this point, it feels more like a feel-good show than a true sports analysis podcast, which makes it a waste of time for fans who want real insight.

This is probably the worst Braves pod I’ve listened to and I’ve tried just about all of them. The podcast episodes with Grant are a little more interesting, but overall it just doesn’t seem like Jake is a Braves fan. He has no excitement in his voice. It’s just one boring “gear” that’s he’s in at all times. Also, there are no hot takes, and there is no meaningful analysis to be found. These are both essential for a quality sports podcast to keep it fresh and interesting.
It basically amounts to this, Jake will say, “It’s great to see Arcia heating up again” but he won’t go into detail about peripherals like exit velo or launch angle, or perhaps better plate discipline. The podcast is just blanket statements about the “what” instead of the “how” and “why”.
Although it only airs once weekly, I would strongly recommend checking out the flagship show on battery power. It is so much better than this.
