This was a really lovely podcast listen this morning. It reminded me of one of the first podcasts I ever listened to back in 2016, Millennial and as I listened to the opening I immediately thought, “why did podcasts stop doing this?” The authenticity of listening to Olivia talk to herself as she made dinner and the sounds of her car turning on, the sizzle of oil on a pan and just life around her was really beautiful. When podcasts first came out that was what I loved about them, the honesty and the rawness of them. I think we’ve lost that in the last decade.
The interview with Olivia’s parents was so wholesome, it made me laugh out loud and then tear up. I love listening to proud parents.
The questions of why do writers write, my god, is the question I ask myself a lot, as person in the process of writing my own book. It’s so interesting to hear more about the process and anxiety of having a book published as someone who is hoping to get to that point one day. It’s a really lovely peak beneath the curtain and a reminder to enjoy every part of the process because no part of this work is easy or without its challenges.
Overall it is a great listen all around. I can’t wait for more!

I cannot wait for more episodes of this podcast. Truly, it feels like it was recorded just for me. Thank you, Olivia. As someone who’s been a fan since that long-ago, viral “Instagram vs. Reality” moment, this podcast hits home. Your writing always, always does.
