Although I was worried at first that this podcast felt overproduced, I settled in after the first episode and have enjoyed all the work and insight that Marc and Princess bring to the table for each episode. They’ve developed a solid rapport and their questions to guests (along with guests’ answers) don’t disappoint. Listening to the podcast has become a part of my Monday routine following Sunday’s episode. Kudos to all involved!

Princess and Marc are smart, funny, and a pleasure to listen to talk about my newest favorite show! As a huge “It” and King fan, I love hearing their perspectives, their sharp observations, and their amazing interview skills. I want them to do podcasts about everything I like so I can listen and laugh and learn like I do this one.

Contrary to other reviews, I personally love the hosts of this show and deeply appreciate their connection to the characters and the social commentary of the show. IT: Welcome to Derry is has a lot more than scares to share with the audience, and does a great job weaving in Steven King’s lore into emotionally impactful themes of grief, family, chosen family, and the fear and anger that persist in our reality. I think the hosts do a great job of speaking to those themes in a balanced and entertaining way, and you can tell both hosts thoroughly enjoy the show as both fans and in their role in this podcast. I think this is especially true in their interviews. Princess asks the actors and creators such wonderful questions that fans want to hear and that the creators are passionate to expand on. You can also tell that the creators have an appreciation for the hosts too. Every conversation feels like an opportunity for these people to expand on their character’s actions in the show, while connecting their performance to their personal lives and what the show means to them. Don’t let the haters get you down, this podcast is a great listen.

It’s really wonderful to hear from not just actors but various folks behind the scenes who create the visuals. The hosts ask great questions and they KNOW It so they can speak to the greater King universe. Love it!

The interviews are fine, but the hosts’ commentary is shallow and their jokes fall flat. “Being an orphan adds character,” Weekes “quips” in Ep.7, an emotional episode, and I nearly turned the whole thing off. Sadly, it’s become common for HBO’s “official” podcasts to disappoint. It’s always the hosts. Choose better hosts, please.

I’m a big fan of Stephen King’s writing and the IT story so I had high hopes for this podcast. Unfortunately it falls short and it’s due to half of the host team not being entertaining. Marc has excellent insights and stays on topic, meanwhile Princess tends to make it all about her and derail the conversations on the episodes. She’s just an unlikable personality for a host of this type of podcast.
