LOVE this podcast! I walk away from each episode with several new research ideas and more insight into how practitioners think about irregular warfare. I’ve assigned episodes on my course syllabi and they’re always a big hit with the students.

Unusual and refreshing combination of analysis and conversations. Somber and judicious, yet incisive and nuanced. Seeking truth in domestic and international war strategy without fear of following ideological narratives is commended.

This podcast is straightforward. The guests are knowledgeable and thoughtful. The presentation is without extraneous nonsense. And the topics are important to understand the world we live in now, and what are the various scenarios for the future. Should be required listening by every government official as well as in schools.

Been listening since the beginning of the podcast and as much as I love the show, I had to bring up the myopic focus in the security cooperation. In an almost hour long show about the security cooperation enterprise the role of the State Department was a only mentioned twice, once about Secretary Blinken and the other about Defense Attachés. Maybe have a companion episode with experts from State’s PM Bureau or even DSCA about the foreign policy work that goes into the Title 22 security cooperation programs you referenced in the latest episode.

Again, love the show, but irregular (political) warfare doesn’t just live in the Pentagon.

This podcast has been a good source of information and ideas concerning irregular warfare, but the last several guests have offered very little concrete practical recommendations and instead fall back on purely academic or theoretical scripts. It’s frustrating because you get 3/4 through a podcast and realize you could have gotten the same points from skimming an article in 5min versus wasting 45min. This is especially evident in the latest episode “plausible deniability and proxies”. Disappointing and a waste of valuable time.

Very informative but over the last 6 months or so the guests have exhibited very left leaning political bias and narratives that detract from their the objective nature of the topics.
