I’ve been riding the Leo Laporte train since the TechTV days—back when floppy disks still roamed the Earth. Intelligent Machines is vintage Leo with a futuristic twist: warm, witty, and wildly curious. Add Paris Martineau’s razor-sharp insights and Jeff Jarvis’s signature “grumpy professor meets AI evangelist” energy, and you’ve got a podcast that feels like a front-row seat at a brainiac dinner party.
It’s the only show where I can laugh, learn, and panic about AI taking over… all in under an hour. If HAL 9000 had listened to this podcast, maybe things would’ve turned out better.
Five stars, easy. More, if the robots let me.

I look forward to the show every week. Informative interviews and an excellent (if sometimes chaotic) round up of the week’s news. My favorite part is the banter between the hosts because it really feels like you’re listening to your friends going back and forth.

The chemistry of Paris and her two grand-dads is top-notch with the perfect blend of insight and approachability. This is the best place to learn about latest trends in AI and other modern tech in a nuanced way.
Also not gonna lie, I’m proactively leaving this review to ensure the Craig Newmark jingle sticks around!

Mr. Leo Laporte. Let me just say it is an honor sir, I downloaded Apple Podcasts just to leave this review. I’ll start by saying I am a 45 year old African-American man that works at one of the top cancer centers in Texas. I have followed your career from doing tech support in Houston, the Screensavers, this Week in Tech/Google and now my personal favorite show, “Intelligent Machines”. It’s the perfect combination of the sage wisdom of Jeff Jarvis, fan of the printed word such as myself, the “cold water in the face” of reality provided by the young upstart, Paris Martineu and the steady anchor, the familiar voice from my youth, Uncle Leo Laporte. Huge fan of the show, subscriber and fellow AI accelerator. One more thing, tell Mikah Sargent that there’s Black tech OG’s like me out here watching him and we’re proud of him. Keep it up. - Cybersoulja
