I have followed Anne for a long time. I think she’s great and she knows her stuff- but DAMN… she interrupts and talks all over Eric all the time. (He does it some, too, by the way.) It is extremely aggravating and diminishes the intent of this podcast. Please back that down some, guys. So annoying! I would give this podcast five stars for content and knowledge but I’m gonna drop it to three for this talking all over each other business. Please STOP.

I enjoy the discussions and topics. The hosts clearly know what they’re talking about. They provide interesting and unique takes and points garnished with in-depth insights. However, sometimes they are terrible podcast hosts. It feels at times like their desks face each other at work and after constantly arguing/debating/discussing films as they peck out/edit copy for IW, someone decided to grab an iPhone, record them and upload it as a podcast. The hosts can get so wrapped up in their conversation that they fail to be good podcast hosts, e.g., they do things like talk about a movie, mention the awards it won at specific festivals, name the director, provide nuggets about his personal life and previous movies, but then totally leave out the name of the movie! Plus, the audio could be better. It was an improvement switching out the hosts though. It diminished the frustration factor a bit. They clearly have the knowledge and ability to discuss film, they should now focus on improving or expanding their abilities as solid “podcast hosts”.

Love the show for its insight into the movie business and film festivals in general, but it drives me crazy to hear the moderators’ mispronunciation of Luca Guadagnino’s name every single time. It’s [ˈluːka ɡwadaɲˈɲiːno]. Please get it right! Saying it wrongly takes away a great deal of your credibility and authority as movie critics.

I've been following Anne's measured and knowledgeable takes on the Oscar race since she was recording the Oscar Talk podcast with Kris Tapley. She is without a doubt my most trusted awards circuit journalist. I also enjoy Ryan's highbrow sensibilities and his sound intuition about the race. I must add, however: both Anne and Ryan simply must get better about avoiding spoilers. I go to many of the same festivals they do and even still have had countless movies spoiled for me-- sometimes shamelessly detailed plot discussions, sometimes with vague descriptions that alter the way I'll consume the story (i.e., telling you that there's a twist coming or that character X isn't as they seem, so that you're constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.). If this is happening to me despite attending film festivals and living in New York where films get early releases, I can only imagine how others with less access must feel. I beg Anne and Ryan to consider how often they take weeks/months to catch up with new releases and then to remember that their audience does the same. If they can't avoid spoilers, then at the very least they need to provide spoiler tags. Failing to do so limits their podcast's appeal to a fraction of the community obsessed with awards season.

Great insight and good discussions but Anne is constantly interrupting at mid sentence her co-host.
Which is very annoying and disrespectful.
You can tell she has passion for the topic but needs to calm down and let other people finish their thoughts.
