I Hate James Dobson - Podcast Rankings and reviews

Every episode is a gift. I end up laughing, yelling etc at the podcast (in agreement). I’ve learned why certain things were done in my growing up years and love knowing my kid won’t go thru the same!

I’ve had a fairly consistent podcast diet of deconstruction content for nearly 10 years. This podcast is far and away my favorite. I’ve never laughed so hard over such a dour topic. Jake, Brooke and Friends are delightful hosts who give profound and professional perspectives on the religious structures that have shaped American life as we know it. We all hate James Dobson and they do a great job explaining WHY.

Honestly I love this show so much! I grew up deep in fundie-land and had to dismantle a lot of beliefs over the years. When I became a mom, I was gifted “Shepherding A Child’s Heart” and that sent me down a rabbit hole that ultimately led to James Dobson. A fire of hate was lit for that man and all the other Christian parenting authors who seemingly hate children. This podcast gives me a comedic release of that hatred. It feels like Jake and Brooke are my friends and I love every minute of it. Keep up the great work!

It's so clear that this show comes from the heart, but it's also carefully researched and sharply presented. I'm sure enormous effort goes into each episode, but the result is natural, engaging and deeply appreciated for anyone who shares the sentiment about the subject.
