Hymns for the Road - Podcast Rankings and reviews

I always find myself wanting more episodes. This world, storyline, audio and the voice actors make one of the best podcast productions i’ve ever listened to. The characters blend marvelously while also being distinct enough to distinguish each individually. I highly recommend Hymns for the Road to anyone who likes a bit of dystopian/fantasy/sci-fi/ adventure & mystery. I’ll be an avid listener for as long as production continues.

This story is written in a way that you start out feeling confused but just enough to keep listening and even though you aren’t sure you understand what’s happening it’s all part of the journey. The production style and song moments go perfectly with the story and you really feel the moments … it’s a perfect little podcast. (I did listen to the trailer after I had listened to all the available episodes so I really went in totally confused but it just added to it for me.) Even when the characters narrate it’s in flow with the production, not disruptive, still immersive.

This is a wonderfully well written show inside of a meticulously well crafted World Build. The characters are touching. You WILL be drawn in. I’m halfway through this season, & I will miss this when it ends. I hope there is more to come. I’m 5 starring this despite the fact that fantasy is not my usual thing.

A wonderfully executed balancing act of the fantastical and the mundane, danger and coziness, wonder and terror, and clashing personalities and found family.
