These two are amazing. I enjoy the back and forth between them. The amount of research that goes into each episode is amazing. Every story is entertaining and informative. I feel like an instant expert on every topic they discuss.

I listen to many history podcasts, but this one came recommended by a friend. At first I was hesitant, as I have never found ancient history interesting. This podcast changed that! Now I actively look for updates as new research comes out and watch documentaries to learn more. I love that I have a renewed interest in (and appreciation for) history! I’m grateful to the hosts for putting the podcast together and was so excited to see they are back from a break. I wanted to add a review to share my appreciation for the work that goes into this show.

The thing about a history podcast is all credibility is lost when you can’t pronounce the names of things, people, places, that would have taken 2 seconds to look up. I’m not looking for a deep dive into anything here, I expect them to take some liberties or make some mistakes, but can’t take this seriously when the simplest things to check/research are incorrect yet spoken with incredible confidence.

I love the show but the hosts audio is so low I have to turn it way up and then the commercials are an assault because the volume is up so loud! It makes me pass on listening if I’m not available to have ready steady hands to skip the commercials or abruptly change the volume.

This isn’t really a history podcast, because nobody involved knows the first thing about any of the historical topics discussed. Vacuous, slapdash, and hopelessly dumb, the show is a waste of time—for hosts and listeners alike. Skip this podcast and go for another one that’s reliable, substantive, and researched with actual books and primary sources. Attempts at being witty—no matter how much they fail—do not generate enough laughter to compensate for this knowledge vacuum.

They spend too much time chatting with each other and don’t actually keep a train of thought. I get they are trying to be funny and chatty but they need to keep a follow through for the information they are sharing. It sounds like a college podcast. It’s more about them than the audience clearly.
