I’ve been going through a difficult stretch as the caregiver for my mother who is slowly dying. There have been some stretches in past months in which I’ve hardly been able to leave the house. HC has been an amazing diversion for me. It helps to get my mind off all the heaviness that surrounds me. I have found the majority of the topics fascinating, and I love the quality storytelling and funny banter. Most importantly, I like the Biblical perspective. As someone who has always had an interest in the supernatural, once I became a follower of Christ in my early 40s, it was difficult to reconcile a lot of these topics with my new Christian worldview. The show has helped me to see these things all through the lens of the gospel. I hope to be able to enjoy this show for years to come!

It’s a compelling mix of strange stories, theology, and wonder at God’s creation. It’s thoughtful, well-researched, and always leaves you thinking. Plus, it’s just a lot of fun!

This show feels like listening to spooky campfire stories with your two older brothers who are also deeply online (in the best way possible). The quality is fantastic, the story telling is lyrical and engaging, the discussion is steeped in pop culture references. Spooky + a biblical world view, what more could you want out of a podcast?

Loved this show early on! The episodes were well researched and intriguing. Funny commentary (before the yo mama kick). And comes back to Christ. But in the last several months, it’s been a lot of freak stories without a point that encompassed all the stories. How are they hinged together? And what does the Bible tell us? Somehow they’ve gotten off track, but I’m hopeful that they come back around. Loved the episodes on Bermuda Triangle and the lost colony.
