My wife and I recently moved back to Fort Worth. I had the pleasure of meeting Mattie at a campaign event this spring and was immediately struck by the tone she set. She won me over, won my vote and has my full support. In a time of extreme political polarization, Mayor Parker is a breath of fresh air and just what we need at this moment. I know she won’t be perfect - no one is. But I look forward to supporting her and her team accomplish big things in my new home town. I look forward to listening.

I love this theme of action now. I agree with Mattie’s imperative that we do not have the luxury to sit and ponder. It’s time to take action to keep our city great and to meet the needs of a rapidly growing population. I’d like to nominate Jeff Williams or his wife Julie from Taste community restaurant to speak to,how they are addressing the food dessert that exists in the near south side and how the people of Fort Worth can join in to bridge the need and have fun in the doing. I’ve said for a long time that podcasting is such an easy way for leaders to have direct communication with the public. I’m so glad Mayor Parker is bringing new communication methods to Fort Worth. She and I don’t agree on everything, but I wholeheartedly endorse new media usage and am glad for how she is paving the way for our city.
