This podcast is so fun to listen to! Casey & Kevin have great chemistry; by the sound of it recording each Omar Epps must’ve been a blast for them. We’re like a decade since the poptimism vs rockism debate first emerged, but GIAC eschews that binary - neither self-seriously condemning nor uncritically stanning any of the chosen songs. Instead they tease out the rational kernels in an array of fin de siècle pop hits (aside from the Rascal Flatts & Ed Sheeran tunes, every song thus far was released 1999-2001). They also note the glaring missteps in hysterical ways. A nice ancillary benefit of listening is that you might learn something about the nuts and bolts of songwriting that you didn’t know. Hopefully Thursdays will be the day of Chancies for a long time to come.

YES!!! This is podcast I’ve needed since Kevin’s 10th anniversary show, NYC circa 2012, when Casey and Jay Miller did bits on stage between sets. It’s like the music version of How Did This Get Made (another fave…future collab??), and I love it.
And ‘How You Remind Me’ is literally the perfect starting song. I’ve seen Kevin riff off it before ‘Bubblegum’ so many time, I almost began to think he might…like it?! Thank god that’s been cleared up 😅
Can’t wait for more!
