This is an excellent podcast- it educates, illuminates, it has the drama of the personal intertwined with the forces of shameful racism, white supremacy and segregation that still have not been defeated in our country. Mr and Mrs Robinson were so interesting to learn about, and I am glad that their lives and contributions are known today. I am hoping that the Minnesota Star Tribune will place a marker on Mrs Robinson’s grave to thank her for her story and honor the contributions she made to her community, city and country.

As we go backwards as a country and find ourselves watching DEI polices demolished, how timely is this podcast. The call for us to not just listen but take this information and story and do something in our community is powerful. And the bonus episode with the speech, I want to share it everywhere! Thank you for this story and the care and love poured into sharing it.

I didn’t expect to listen, let alone become so engaged, but this podcast left a lasting impact. It was a powerful reminder of the resilience of Black communities and the ongoing fight for justice and equality. I walked away feeling informed, inspired, and deeply moved—grateful that I had taken the time to hear this story in full.

One of the best history podcasts I’ve listened to, ever. Admittedly, I’m biased. But I listen to a lot of narrative, journalism, and history podcasts, and none combines the three quite like Ghost of a Chance. Just the Robinson’s story would be compelling. Yet they help shine a light on a corner of early 20th century history that is worth us all understanding better. Plus, this isn’t a podcast that was simply slapped together over a couple weeks. The research and care taken over many years to tell this story is remarkable. You will be glad you listened to Ghost of a Chance and you will learn something.

It is a very interesting story and unlike any podcast that I have listened to but the narrator is tone deaf to racism in America. I am disappointed by how little you know about the African American difficult experience with racism. Did you think racism just didn’t exist? I have to be honest here and say I was disgusted by how many times you said “I had no idea” or “I did not know this side of Minnesota existed.”
