FunFactor is a delight! Ty and Aidan capture the spirit, the feverish enthusiasm of getting a game magazine in the mail and reading it cover to cover, and then contextualizing it against the way we think and talk about games in the present day. They're critical but not contemptuous, and their bonafides in the modern games writing space lend authority and articulation to their observations. Most importantly, it sounds like they're genuinely having fun during the entire episode. It's an infectious, positive energy—and it lives up to the name of the show. I don't read game magazines cover to cover anymore, but I will absolutely listen from the beginning to the end of each episode of FunFactor.

As a fan of these magazines and this era long before we referred to them as “retro,” I love a good excuse to look back and relive this time any chance I can get.
Aidan (my favorite host) and Ty (completely competent at his job) found a formula to talk about these magazines with their own personal touch. Bringing their professional and personal experience to reflect on the construction, history, and delivery through anecdotes and analysis is a great time and very entertaining to listen to.
I’m looking forward to many more episodes, and hope they can continue to do what they did in this premiere episode. This is highly recommended for any retro gaming fan, and any gaming fan with a sense of nostalgia for the 80s, 90s, and beyond.

What a fantastic concept, brilliantly executed by Ty and Aidan! Whether the game catches your attention, or the magazine being spotlighted, it’s a delightful trip in the wayback machine for the X-ennial crowd and older Gen Z, as well as providing some fascinating insight on the evolution of games media for younger audiences. Makes a great accompaniment on my commute into work, and I highly recommend it to any folks looking for more gaming-themed podcasts to add to their rotation!

A fun podcast that relives game from the only era I actually played video games. Both Ty and Aidan know their stuff and make it hugely entertaining. (Sorry guys I don’t pick favorites). Looking forward to more episodes!!
