Treat yourself to a moment of reflection and thoughts and memories interconnecting as you listen to her talk about the books she’s reading. I felt smarter just listening to it, and even if I never read half the books she talks about, it reminds me of all the good stories out there and the common human experience.

From the sound of the squeaky chain on the porch swing to Annie’s voice to what she’s saying about books and life in a small town, I love inhabiting this podcast. It feels like a conversation, albeit one-sided. I loved hearing about your process recording your own audiobook, and I look forward to reading your book. Congrats for joining the books already on your shelves, Annie, you’re welcome in my ears anytime.

To say I’m obsessed with this podcast is an understatement. Thursday has become my new favorite day of the week because I know I’ll have a new From The Front Porch episode to listen to. I grew up in the South and my parents have a front porch swing at their house (such a comforting sound) but now I live far away from them so this podcast gives me the home away from home feeling I so desperately crave. I love listening to all the great book recommendations from women who feel like my friends. I recently traveled to The Bookshelf (twice) and it’s the coziest most loveliest shop. I even got to meet the owner, Annie during my first visit and I truly was in awe. Listening to this show is like drinking sweet tea and eating hush puppies — true southern comfort. 💛
