I love a good ancient civilization theory, and any alternative theory that can summon some plausible evidence. But the Tartaria episode is just too poorly researched and poorly thought out. You can go on a tour of subterranean Seattle and it’s not some advanced civilization, people just didn’t want to walk in 2 feet of mud any more. And as for SLC being too advanced: the SLC temple was not the first that the Mormons built, but it is similar in design and construction to ones that they constructed previously so it’s pretty silly to say that it must have been there already. They were building them before, and built many afterwards; clearly they had the ability.
